More on Jane

Jane Edmanson, Julie and children Hi Folks.

There is a definitely feeling in the air, we have had the odd shower of rain and its even gone back to typical Melbourne cold winter, hopefully this will all make for a good spring and with longer daylight hours, more warmth in the sun and seeing new growth, it would be hard not to be enthusiastic about the glorious season ahead of us.

AutumnSpring Gardening Tips

  • Vegetables are hot to trot – you don’t have to have a massive veggie garden just a few lettuces, spring onions, carrots and a tomato
  • The sweet scent of spring – cherry blossom, magnolia and wisteria abounding, there is always room for one more tree or shrub in the garden
  • Native wattles, grevilleas, kangaroo paws giving life in the garden for the birds
  • Basil a great plant for pots, perfect for pesto and companionable with tomatoes
  • Herbs don’t need a lot of water. Thyme, sage, rosemary excellent in the garden or containers especially if you are a gardener who likes to cook
